G Brian demonstrating at the Corning Museum of Glass

G Brian

Master Glass Artist

I was first introduced to hot glass in my home town of Detroit, MI. After high school I went to New York to study fine arts at Alfred University. There, I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a New York State teaching certificate. After 20 years in Corning, NY as a Gaffer for the Hot Glass Show at the Corning Museum of Glass I am now the Head of Production for Carlyn Ray Designs in Dallas, Tx.

I love the idea of forging a relationship with someone who is drinking from one of my tumblers or wine glasses, pouring from a pitcher or just enjoying one of my uniquely colored vases or bowls. As an artist, I am passionate about what I do and love the opportunity to share that passion with others.

I know that you will love using one of my glass pieces in your daily life and it will help you tell your story of love and passion too.

G Brian on the beauty of glass: "Glass is intrinsically beautiful both the process and the final piece. There's no other material that you can use that blends color and mixes color like glass." The Museum Gaffer Profiles series is a collection of interviews with the glassmakers who work at The Corning Museum of Glass.
